TREK OVERVIEW
The Valley of Flowers, nestled in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district, is one of the most captivating trekking destinations in the Indian Himalayas. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this stunning valley lies at an altitude of about 12,000 ft and is world-famous for its breathtaking display of over 500 species of vibrant alpine flowers that bloom between July and September. The entire valley transforms into a colorful paradise with a backdrop of snow-capped peaks, glistening streams, and cascading waterfalls – a sight that leaves every visitor spellbound.
The trek to the Valley of Flowers begins from Govindghat and passes through scenic trails, quaint villages, and dense forests, making the journey as enchanting as the destination. Trek Itinerary
A scenic drive from Dehradun to Kharchi, passing through towns like Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Joshimath.
A trek from Pulna to Ghangaria, which serves as the base camp for the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib.
A trek from Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers, approximately 4 km each way.
A visit to the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, followed by a trek back to Ghangaria.
Trek from Ghangaria back to Pulna, covering about 10 km, with scenic views of the mountains and valleys. After reaching Pulna, rest and then drive to Kharchi (around 2 hours), enjoying the beautiful landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Kharchi, check in for an overnight stay and relax after the day's trek.
After breakfast, begin the drive back to Dehradun, which takes approximately 9-10 hours. Along the way, pass through towns like Devprayag and Joshimath, offering scenic views of the mountains. Stop for lunch and rest before continuing to Dehradun, where you will arrive in the evening, marking the end of your journey.
